Distributing and recording the publishing for a song can feel pretty ominous if you are new to the game. It can be a smooth process but you have to know the process. I go over how I use Distrokid, Songtrust, Canva, Unsplash and WordPress to distribute a song. Over the last four years of creating songs and doing my own releases, I discovered a workflow that works well for me. My workflow starts with track art and distribution to the registration and publishing data needed to get paid. In this video, I present my basic workflow to give you and idea of how easy publishing a song can be. You have to dot your i’s and cross your t’s, but there’s plenty of little details and it can all be done in under 30 minutes.
I start by showing you how I create track art with an image from Unsplash, apply a treatment to it in Canva and then publish the song with Distrokid. Afterwards, I show how I register the song with Songtrust and put in the initial release information in my WordPress site so I can keep all the meta data focused and optimized for SEO.
I expect to break down each of these service categories and the how and why I choose each of the services I use. Hope you enjoy the video. Please leave comments, like and subscribe!
